Ann Fay is at the hospital and she meets a colored girl. The other girl's dad is gone to war too. When Ann Fay couldn't sleep she told the nurse," I was the one who killed my brother." Then the nurse told her that wasn't true. Then she starts talking about her dog Pete. The dog died of a broken heart.
